And oh hey

it looks like I’ll be going to Marylhurst this fall. I got my financial aid package in the mail and it is about what I was hoping for…not including work study or the writing scholarship I’m applying for. It also isn’t including the Perkins loan. I am going to talk to a financial aid person tomorrow and see what else I might be able to make happen. Then it will be time to start seriously looking at apartments and saving my money.

One of the perks of being home is finally being able to cook again. Tonight I made garlic chicken and shiitake mushrooms on a bed of spinach. It was delish. I quite look forward to making some more scrumptious meals in my upcoming weeks of living in Lincoln alone. :)

bouncing from typewriter to piano,
from bookshelf to an envelope lying on the floor,
I found myself in the L section of the dictionary
where my eyes fell upon the word lanyard.
No cookie nibbled by a French…

The Song in the Dream

The song itself had hinges. The clasp on the eighteenth-century Bible
had hinges, which creaked; when you released the catch,
the book would sigh and expand.

The song was of two wholes joined by hinges,
and I was worried about the joining, the spaces in between
the joints, the weight of each side straining them.
